What Is Gradcom?
Gradcom, short for the Graduation Committee, is the student organization responsible for not only the graduation party but also other large scale social events for the student body.
What does Gradcom do?
We host events, mostly parties, that let students cut loose, socialize with people from all over the Institute, and keep the whole thing affordable for the student budget. We cooperate with other initiatives in these events and generally have a theme for each event. During the events we sell alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, at prices you won't find in the rest of Geneva, with all money being put back into the student body through venue rentals, equipment rentals, more beverages, etc. The money we raise ultimately goes towards the graduation party at the end of the academic year.
What are Gradcom’s Values?
Providing the student body with great social events that are also affordable
Hosting venues for the entire student body to interact with one another
Providing a space that is safe and respectful to students
Can I get involved in Gradcom?
Of course! organizing events requires a lot of people so we can always use more helping hands. There are different levels of commitment depending on what you want to do but these generally take the form of helping set up, clean up, or taking a shift at the bar. If you want to get involved on the logistical side of things, that is welcome too!
The Directorate of Gradcom is made up is made up of Christoph Buhne, Allison Pierok, and Saheli Chatterjee.
