SWANA Initiative & the Agrifood Collective invite you to Sumud, a program exploring resistance through food and agriculture, from communities that have faced (and still face) oppression.

Drawing on practices from Southwest Asia and North Africa, we’ll explore how everyday gestures become acts of liberation.

As part of our Sumud program, October 29th, Thursday, in Auditorium 2 at the Graduate Institute from 16:15-18:00 PM, we will screen a film by Jumana Manna, a Palestinian director and visual artist based in Jerusalem and Berlin. Her work explores how power is articulated through the body, land, and materiality in relation to colonial inheritances and histories of place.
