OUR VISION

The Peacebuilding Initiative (PBI) is a student-led organization that promotes youth participation in peacebuilding efforts and discussions. Founded in 2019 at the Geneva Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID), PBI now has over 200 members and a board of 30 who work together to achieve this goal.

We hope to create a world where the collective efforts of youth and young professionals from diverse backgrounds lead to sustainable peace and harmony by actively and effectively supporting peacebuilding initiatives worldwide. Through collaboration, dialogue, and inclusive participation, we seek to foster a peacebuilding community that promotes understanding, tolerance, and empathy.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to provide an entry point for youth and young professionals to engage with peacebuilding professionals and institutions in Geneva and beyond. We do this by organizing thought-provoking discussions, lectures, seminars, and networking events, which allow for informative and collaborative inter-generational exchanges. Our biggest goal is to promote active youth participation in peacebuilding discussions and initiatives. We aim to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical peacebuilding efforts, ensuring that young voices are heard and valued in the process.
