Day of the Dead Ofrenda Workshop
Day of the Dead is a holiday celebrated as a way to honor our ancestors who passed away and celebrate their memory.
Join us for the day of the dead workshop to decorate the altar! Come be a part of this beautiful tradition and learn more about it.
Bring scissors, glue and coloured pencils to learn how to do marigold flowers (cempasúchil), paint calaveritas (skulls) and papel picado (paper cut-outs) while learning about this beautiful holiday.
Don’t forget to bring a picture of a family member, pet, friend or someone you would like to honor during día de muertos!
Spanish Conversation Circle

Saleve Hike

For our second welcome month activity we invite you to the Salève hike on the 22nd of September! We will go to the top of this iconic mountain, and we want you to join us in this weekend's activity. We will meet each other at 9:00 A.M, in front of the Migros of Gare Cornavin, and take the bus number 8 (via Veyrier-Doune) (bus ticket costs 3CHF)
Important things to take on the hike: passport, water, food, money for the bus, hiking/running shoes, and energy!

Bake Sale for Palestine
On the 19th of March, the MENA initiative is organizing a bake sale fundraiser for children in Gaza. Dr. Salti is a Swiss Palestinian urologist who has recently evacuated Palestinian children from Gaza in order to give them medical treatment in Geneva. He is the founder of Children’s Right for Healthcare (CRH). Dr Salti has already carried out numerous missions, mainly in the West Bank and Gaza, but also in Madagascar. All of the funds raised at this bake sale with this fundraiser will be donated to CRH. This event is done in collaboration with the Migration Initiative, QISA, ASA, LANI and the HRCP Initiative.
